Thomson Reuters Releases Android Version of Mobile CS

Mobile firm management app enables Android users to enter and view data in Practice CS®

ANN ARBOR, Mich., September 16,  2011—Thomson Reuters has recently released an Android-compatible version of Mobile CS, the mobile app that links to a variety of smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices. Users of Android devices running Android 2.1 or higher, as well as iPhones®, iPads®, and iPod® touches can now take advantage of on-the-go access to firm information like WIP, AR, staff activity, and client interactions. Mobile CS also offers a variety of automated time and expense tracking capabilities, including:

Time and expense entry: Mobile CS users can enter time and expense entries on the go. The entries automatically flow directly into Practice CS.

Mileage tracking: Mobile CS can track mileage in real time using the device’s GPS, or after the fact by calculating a route distance between two addresses. It can then use that mileage to create an expense entry that automatically flows to Practice CS.

Receipt tracking: Mobile CS can automatically link photos of receipts to expense entries that flow to Practice CS, enabling firm members and administrators to view copies of receipts directly from time and expense entry with a single click.

Call timer: Mobile CS can time outgoing phone calls, then use the dialed client to create a time entry that automatically flows to Practice CS.

“Mobile CS is becoming an indispensible part of doing business for more and more firms, and Android is the most prevalent mobile platform in use today, so this was a natural progression,” said Scott Fleszar, vice president, Strategic Marketing, Tax & Accounting, Thomson Reuters. “For partners and key staffers, staying connected to the firm and to clients is essential, and this will extend that connectivity to a new group of users.”

Mobile CS provides mobile access to a variety of content from Practice CS, the comprehensive practice management software from Thomson Reuters. Information available in Mobile CS includes client data, staff availability, project status, and key firm data including WIP and AR, all in a convenient, mobile-friendly format. Future Mobile CS releases will offer access to additional CS Professional Suite® product functions and data.

A free, fully functional trial version of Mobile CS is available in the Android Market and the Apple App Storesm. Once downloaded, any Android, Apple iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch user can try Mobile CS free of charge with the sample data that automatically comes with it. A paid license is required to sync Practice CS firm data to Mobile CS. For more information, please visit
