Hogiadi “Hogi” Kurniawan, a CPA and senior audit manager for Haskell & White LLP, has joined the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center’s board of directors. Haskell & White LLP is one of the largest independently owned accounting firms in Southern California.

“This is an honor to serve on the board of such a fantastic nonprofit organization,” said Kurniawan, a father of two young children. “Child abuse is a major problem that can have tragic consequences, and the Center works diligently to strengthen the bonds of hundreds of thousands of families affected by this problem.”

As one of the largest independently owned accounting, auditing and tax consulting firms in Southern California, Haskell & White stands out as one of the most philanthropic organizations in the region as well. Its culture, policies and the personal dedication of more than 80 employees in Orange and San Diego counties have yielded prestigious recognitions including awards from the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Association for Corporate Growth.

“As a firm, we maintain a close connection to the community where we work and live and make it part of our culture to volunteer,” said Rick Smetanka, CPA, Partner-in-Charge, Audit and Business Advisory Services Group, and a former board member and treasurer of the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center. “The Haskell & White family is proud of Hogi for his board service to this special organization, and we support his endeavors to the fullest extent. We are also proud to continue building our legacy of support of the Child Abuse Prevention Center that started in 2001.”

Prior to Haskell & White, Hogi worked for a Big Four firm serving public and private companies. Hogi graduated from Indiana University Kelley School of Business, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has also served on the Board of the Asian American Alliance.

“Our cause gets so much stronger when leaders and thinkers like Hogi join the board,” said Scott Trotter, Executive Director of the Child Abuse Prevention Center. “His talents in accounting and financial management, as well as his passion for children, are vital to us being a well-run nonprofit. Haskell & White does so much for the nonprofit community! Hogi is an extension of its passion to see improvement in Orange County.”
