Denise Miller, a CPA from Amesbury, Mass., has been named the recipient of this year’s IMTA Young CPA Scholarship from the American Institute of CPAs’ Information Management and Technology Assurance (IMTA) Section. The scholarship covers the registration fee and travel expenses to the AICPA Practitioners Symposium and Tech+ Conference, currently underway in Las Vegas.

Miller, 34, is an information assurance associate with Macpage LLC, which has offices in Maine and Massachusetts. She is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Lowell in Lowell, Mass., and was licensed as a CPA in the state of Maine in 2015.

Nominees for the IMTA Young CPA Scholarship must:

  • Be a licensed CPA
  • Be a member in good standing with the AICPA
  • Have one to five years of experience as a CPA
  • Have novice-level experience of less than five years in an IMTA-related field, such as security and privacy, data analytics, service organization control engagement or IT risk and assurance.

“There are many young and talented CPAs who are doing terrific work in information management and technology assurance,” said Susan Pierce, CPA, CITP, CGMA, associate director of the IMTA division.  “We’re glad we’re able to honor Denise as a representative of that emerging group and have her join us at this event.”
