The Overture Group’s Managing Director Named in Corridor Business Journal Women of Influence 2015
The Overture Group recently announced Brandi Adam Mueller, Managing Director in its Cedar Rapids, Iowa, location, has been named to the Corridor Business Journal Women of Influence for 2015. Mueller joins nine other businesswomen who will also be featured in a future Corridor Business Journal issue highlighting their achievements.

Women of Influence honors 10 women annually who have made a difference in the Corridor and who are role models in their fields and community.

CohnReznick Welcomes New Partner and Expands Practice
CohnReznick recently announced the selection of Ted Gunther, CPA, as a partner in the firm’s National Renewable Energy Industry Practice, as well as the expansion of its Technology and Life Sciences Industry Practice. Gunther has 11 years of experience in the Power & Utilities Practice of a Big Four firm. He has in-depth technical and SEC financial reporting experience, as well as experience advising and leading purchase accounting efforts on multibillion-dollar acquisitions. Gunther graduated from Pennsylvania State University with his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

Christopher Thomas, CPA will lead CohnReznick’s Technology and Life Science Industry Practice, which counsels private and public technology and life sciences companies throughout the various stages of their life cycle. The practice will offer clients resources and integrated services to help them effectively manage growth and investor expectations.

Mayer CPAs Launch New Family Office Division
Mayer CPAs announced the launch of their new division, Mayer Family Office, which provides advice regarding the creation and implementation of customized lifestyle and financial strategies. Mayer Family Office serves high net-worth individuals and their families, working with clients’ lawyers, bankers, insurance agents and investment advisors.

Arxis Technology Hires New Employees
Arxis Technology, Inc. recently added Kevin Curren, Rafael Mestre, Debbie Norton, Shannon Santistevan, Jenny Johnson and Christina Serian to the Implementations Team and the Marketing and Sales Team. Curren will be providing implementation and development support for Sage 500 ERP projects. He recently earned his Intacct certification and received his MBA from USC Marshall School of Business. Curren has more than 15 years of corporate finance and consulting experience.

Mestre will focus on ERP implementations in the manufacturing and supply chain industries. He has more than 20 years of financial management experience, including managing retirement plans.

Norton will focus on helping clients use Intacct to solve their accounting concerns. He recently graduated with a degree in Accounting from California State University Northridge.

Santistevan will focus on Intacct projects and her experience includes SaaS and Professional Services, process analysis, design, implementation and training.

Johnson will assume the role of business development manager, establishing new client and strategic relationships. She has extensive networking and event-planning expertise and will manage trade shows and work with prospective clients to help find a solution that fits their needs.

Serian is the marketing manager and will focus on finding creative ways to extend Arxis’ marketing reach. Serian specializes in online marketing with a passion for creating great customer experiences with the web and digital content.

Promotes Managers in Audit and Tax
Gumbiner Savett Inc. recently promoted two staff members to manager: Natasha Rudnitsky, CPA, in the tax department and Joanna Lee, CPA, in the audit and accounting department.

Rudnitsky has been with the firm for more than six years, working with partnerships, individuals and S corporations. She graduated from California State University at Northridge with her Bachelor of Science in accounting and a minor in business administration.

Lee has been with the firm for more than four years and is an audit and accounting specialist. She works with construction contractors, manufacturing & distribution clients and not-for-profit organizations. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in business with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

Grant Thornton Adds to Its Forensic, Investigative and Dispute Services Practice
Grant Thornton LLP recently welcomed Peter Viksnins to its Forensic, Investigative and Dispute Services practice. Viksnins came to Grant Thornton from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and has almost 20 years of forensic accounting experience.

NAEPC Names New President
The National Association of Estate Planners & Councils recently named Jordon N. Rosen, CPA, AEP as its 2015 President. Rosen is a director at Belfint, Lyons & Shuman, P.A. in the firm’s Tax & Small Business department and chairs the Estate and Trust section.

Bill.com Hires New Leadership
Bill.com recently announced the hire of Sheela Zemlin as Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Success. Zemlin will be responsible for scaling all of the company’s sales channels, including inside sales for small businesses and direct sales for mid-market businesses and accountants.

Zemlin has more than 15 years of sales, business development and corporate strategy experience. She previously held senior leadership positions at Lithium Technologies, Taleo, Oracle, LexisNexis and Intuit. She received her MBA from Harvard Business School and her Bachelor of Accounting degree from Michigan State University.
