Grant Thornton Adds Several New Members
Grant Thornton LLP recently announced the addition of Greg Chin, CPA as a managing director in the firm’s Transaction Advisory Services practice and Lou Feuerstein, CPA as a managing director in the firm’s Audit practice and leader of the Health Care practice. It has also named CEO Stephen M. Chipman senior vice chair.

Chin has more than 20 years of experience working with private equity and strategic acquirers and sellers in various industries, including technology, retail, consumer products, professional services, apparel and manufacturing. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Boston University and received his master’s degree in finance from Boston College.

Feuerstein has more than 35 years of accounting and consulting experience in the health care and not-for-profit industries. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

As senior vice chair, Chipman will lead the firm’s international and public policy operations and maintain relationships with major clients and numerous professional, business and civic organizations. In his role as CEO, Chipman was prominent in the development of a global strategy and brand for Grant Thornton and transformed the firm’s marketing organization, increasing brand exposure through traditional and social media channels. He has held numerous leadership positions throughout Europe, North America and Asia, developing a unique combination of international and U.S. business experience. Chipman studied at Plymouth College and Plymouth Polytechnic in the U.K.

Carr, Riggs & Ingram Merges with Boohaker, Schillaci and Company 
CPA firm Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC recently announced a merger with Boohaker, Schillaci and Company. While Boohaker, Schillaci and Company will operate as Carr, Riggs & Ingram, they will keep their current personnel and seven partners. The firm has served the greater Alabama area for more than 40 years by providing a broad range of accounting and advisory services to clients in a number of industries, including oil and gas, real estate and timber. CRI has office locations available throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

Intacct Opens Development Office in Romania
Intacct recently announced it has opened its second international office, Intacct Romania Development SRL, in Cluj, Romania. The Intacct Romania office will be led and managed by Marian Crisan. She has 15 years of experience in Information Systems, managing complex programs and projects in the telecom, media and public sectors. Crisan graduated from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The Romanian team already consists of six full-time employees and is looking to add more members.

Root & Associates Hires New Senior Accountant
Root & Associates LLC recently announced that Meredith Root, CPA, MBA joined the firm as a senior accountant. In her new role, Root will be responsible for serving small business clients in the areas of tax, accounting and business advisory services. She earned a BS in accounting and an MBA from Indiana University.
