Illinios CPA Society Honors New CPAs

The Illinois CPA Society recently awarded several individuals with its Excel Awards, which honor outstanding achievement on the 2013 CPA Exam. The Excel Award, established in 1984 by the Society's Board of Directors, is presented to new CPAs for outstanding performance on the Uniform CPA Examination.

The Illinois CPA Society recently awarded several individuals with its Excel Awards, which honor outstanding achievement on the 2013 CPA Exam. The Excel Award, established in 1984 by the Society's Board of Directors, is presented to new CPAs for outstanding performance on the Uniform CPA Examination.

All award winners achieved a combined average score of 90 percent or above on all sections of the examination within two consecutive testing windows, and were in the top five percent of Illinois scores. Additionally, Excel Gold, Silver and Bronze medals are presented to Illinois candidates who achieve the top three examination scores in the state.

The recipient of the Excel Gold Medal for achieving the highest score in Illinois is Ryan C. Kania who attended American University and is employed by Plante Moran PLLC. The recipient of the Excel Silver Medal for achieving the second highest score in Illinois is Daniel A. Ettleson who attended University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

The Excel Bronze Medal recipient for achieving the third highest score in Illinois is Robert J. Pekovitch who attended Loyola University Chicago and is employed at Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Other Excel Award recipients include:

  • Eric Chapman who attended University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is employed by Ernst & Young LLP;
  • Nicholas Patrick Everson who attended University of Notre Dame and is employed by Deloitte & Touche LLP;
  • Timothy R. Hegwood who attended Illinois Wesleyan University and is employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP;
  • Connor Hund who attended University of Illinois and is employed by Ernst & Young LLP;
  • Annie C. Jao who attended University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is employed by Plante Moran PLLC;
  • Robert T. Rickert who attended Indiana University and is employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP;
  • Everett Sommer who attended University of Illinois at Chicago, Liautaud Graduate School of Business and is employed by Corbett, Duncan & Hubly, P.C.;
  • Michael Tuttle who attended University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP;
  • Kuan-Jou Wu who attended University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
