Two young professionals at Ernst & Young LLP have been named winners of Consulting magazine's new award “Rising Stars of the Profession,” which recognizes outstanding talent under the age of 35.

They are Anthony Carmello, Partner in the firm's Advisory Services Risk practice, and Anthony Swanson, Senior Manager in the firm's Advisory Services Customer practice. Carmello was selected in the Leadership category and Swanson was selected in the Strategy Consulting category.

“Accomplished leaders like Anthony Carmello and Anthony Swanson who lead with courage and deliver exceptional client work embody the best of EY,” said Bob Patton, the EY Americas Advisory Vice Chair. “It's gratifying to work with such promising young talent and a thrill to consider the possibilities they'll bring forth for our clients and in the industry as a whole. Carmello and Swanson were among over 200 nominees considered by Consulting magazine. Carmello was nominated by Jay Layman, the firm's Americas Advisory Risk Leader. Swanson was nominated by Kristen Vennum who was honored by the publication as one of the Women Leaders in Consulting in 2009.

“I am truly honored to win the Rising Stars of the Profession Leadership Award and recognize this achievement is a result of working with such inspiring leaders and outstanding professionals at EY,” said Carmello. “It is both extremely humbling and motivating to have been nominated and selected.  I am committed to paying forward the level of exceptional mentorship and leadership that have been afforded to me.”
