Avalara and Moore Stephens North America have formed a new strategic partnership, the companies announced on Tuesday. Avalara is a provider of cloud-based automated sales tax compliance systems, and MSNA is one of the largest global accounting and consulting firm networks.

MSNA comprises 48 of the leading accounting firms located in North America (including Bermuda and the Caribbean), and is one of the seven regions of Moore Stephens International Limited (MSIL), one of the largest global networks of independent accounting firms with more than 300 member firms, operating out of more than 600 offices, in excess of 100 countries.

This new strategic partnership will enable MSNA member firms to access Avalara’s online Accountants Resource Center (ARC) that provides business-critical sales and use tax (SUT), value-added tax (VAT) information and related resources to better meet the member firm clients’ needs.  In addition, MSNA member firms will be able to take advantage of Avalara partnering programs designed specifically to help accounting firms expand and differentiate their state and local tax (SALT) services.

“We always look to partner with those companies whose products can enhance the services our members provide their clients,” said Steven Sacks, MSNA’s Executive Director. “Avalara’s sales tax compliance tools are a nice complement to our members’ considerable expertise in the SALT area.”

“Moore Stephens is a major player in the international accounting association community, and we are very pleased to begin this exciting new partnership with them and their member firms,” said Ray Bigley, VP of Business Development for Avalara’s Accounting and Advisory Services Program (AASP). “Our relationship with the North American region of Moore Stephens is part of our larger effort to create closer working relationships with accounting firms across the U.S. and around the world to enhance their stature as well-informed trusted advisors”.
