Ray Barlow and David Bergstein Join Intuit
Intuit has announced David Bergstein, CPA.CITP and Ray Barlow have recently joined its Accountant and Advisor Group. Barlow joined the company last month as the senior Strategic Customer Leader. He has more than 25 years of experience working with accountants and their firms. Before joining Intuit, Barlow was the Vice President of Sales & Marketing and a member of the Executive Group at CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business, where he was responsible for the company’s external marketing initiatives, the complete portfolio of CCH products and led a team of more than 350 sales representatives, account managers, sales managers and sales specialists. Barlow also worked at Datamatics Ltd and Thomson RIA, where he started his career in the tax and accounting industry as a sales representative before being promoted to Regional Sales Manager and Vice President of Sales.

In his new position, Bergstein will report to Barlow and have responsibility for assisting CPA firms in their move to the Cloud. Bergstein was previously the director of strategic relationships for CCH, where he was responsible for cultivating relationships with CPAs. Prior to working for CCH, Bergstein worked for the former CLR/Fast Tax, Thomson Reuters, AccountantsWorld and CPA2Biz. He was also an accounting professor at Suffolk County Community College in New York for more than 15 years and has served on the AICPA's Top Tech Technology Team. Bergstein currently serves on the Florida Institute of CPA's Business Technology Section and the Financial Literacy Committee.

Rodman & Rodman P.C. Adds Two New Accountants
Rodman & Rodman, P.C., an independent accounting and tax firm specializing in clean technology and renewable energy, recently added two new staff accountants, Janine L. O’Connor and Egor Savitskiy to its practice. O’Connor, an Enrolled Agent, has 28 years of public accounting experience preparing individual and corporate income tax returns. A Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor, O’Connor will set-up, train and assist Rodman & Rodman clients with QuickBooks. 

Savitskiy is an Enrolled Agent with extensive experience in tax return preparation, income tax consulting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, tax law research and IRS audits. Savitskiy received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from Northeastern University in Boston.

KPMG Chairman and CEO John Veihmeyer Named “Responsible CEO of the Year”
KPMG LLP and its Chairman and CEO John Veihmeyer were recognized for their corporate responsibility leadership by Corporate Responsibility Magazine. Veihmeyer was named one of the magazine’s “Responsible CEO of the Year” award recipients. CR Magazine's annual awards are presented to CEOs across industries whose organizations visibly exceed standards in the areas of employee relations, environmental impact, human rights, philanthropy and corporate responsibility practices. The other recipients of the 2013 Responsible CEO of the Year award include: Marillyn Hewson, President and CEO, Lockheed Martin; Denise Morrison, President and CEO, Campbell Soup Company; Jim Murren, Chairman and CEO, MGM Resorts International; and Patrick Prevost, President and CEO, Cabot Corporation.

Weaver Announces Addition to Its Advisory Services Financial Institutions Compliance Team
Weaver, Southwest accounting firm, recently named Debbie Ray, CRP, AMLP, CRCM as the director of fair lending compliance. In her new role, Ray will have responsibility for assisting financial institutions with fair lending risk assessments, comparative file testing, training and consulting. Ray has more than 20 years of financial institution regulatory compliance experience. Ray is designated by the Bank Administration Institute as a Certified Risk Professional and holds a BAI Anti-Money Laundering Professional Certification. She’s also certified by the American Bankers Association as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager and has been published in the ABA Bank Compliance magazine. Ray has served as a faculty member and panelist of ABA schools and conferences and a speaker at various trade groups including the Texas Bar Association and Texas Association of Bank Counsel. She graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance.
