Duffy Blackburn Earns CFE Credential
Duffy Blackburn, CPA recently passed the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners exam and received his CFE credential. Blackburn is an auditor for Will County and has extensive knowledge in Fraud Prevention and Deterrence, Fraudulent Financial Transactions, Legal Elements of Fraud and Fraud Investigation.

Terminix Service Announces Promotion and New Staff
Terminix Service, Inc. recently promoted Tami Smith to accounting supervisor and welcomed Betsy Roof, CPA and Cindy Mills to the company as accounting manager and coordinator of Branch Administration, respectively. Smith has been with Terminix for more than 10 years and graduated from Columbia College with her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. Roof has public accounting experience and received her Master’s of Taxation degree from the University of South Carolina. Mills’ 25 years of experience include customer service and management, institutional retirement and trust, corporate trust bond administration and management. She graduated from the University of South Carolina.

Lakewood Construction Promotes CFO
Lakewood Construction recently announced the promotion of David L. Schuitema, CPA, CMA to Chief Financial Officer. Schuitema previously held the role of Controller and has experience in the distribution and manufacturing industries. He graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

Smart Devine Names New Managing Director
Smart Devine hired Jack Warnock as Managing Director of its Business Advisory Practice. Warnock’s expertise includes mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, governance and risk management, finance and operations, integration and recruitment, capital markets, financing and investments and succession planning. Warnock graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

First Whitney Family Endowed Chair in Accounting Selected
The University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics has announced Jennifer R. Joe, CPA has been named the first Whitney Family Endowed Chair in Accounting and professor in the college. The position is funded by longtime university supporters Ken and Liz Whitney and is intended to support a scholar in the field of accounting. Joe comes to the college from Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Accounting. She has previously worked at the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and has more than seven years of experience as an auditor and audit principal. Joe graduated from Baruch College with her bachelor degree in accounting and received her doctorate degree in accounting from the University of Pittsburgh.
