CPA Practice Advisor’s Thought Leader Symposium Receives Honor

CPA Practice Advisor received an Honorable Mention for the event as a finalist in the Best Conference Category of Folio & Min's FAME Awards held last week in New York.

It is better to give than to receive… but it is still nice to receive. At CPA Practice Advisor’s 2013 Thought Leader Symposium, held in Dallas in February, the information resource recognized many of the top influencers serving the accounting profession and inducted Gary Boomer into the Tax & Accounting Hall of Fame.

Now, the Thought Leader Symposium itself is being honored. CPA Practice Advisor received an Honorable Mention for the event as a finalist in the Best Conference Category of Folio & Min’s FAME Awards held last week in New York City. The awards, which recognize the best magazine-sponsored events, span 17 categories, from Awards/Recognition Programs to Tradeshows and Regional Events, and represent a cross-section of consumer and b-to-b media companies.

Cygnus Business Media, which is the parent publisher of CPA Practice Advisor, was well-represented at the awards. Cygnus’ EMS World Expo was selected as the Best Overall Single Event (B-B) category, Firehouse World was the co-winner of the Best Expo / Tradeshow, and Officer World was a finalist in the Best First-Time Event category.

Although not thought of as an events / expo company per se, Cygnus continues to grow the events side of its business. “We are providing the best possible interactions between our exhibitors and our attendees and providing world class programs and training. That is the key to our success and what we continue to strive for everyday,” says Ed Nichols, VP of Public Safety Events at Cygnus.
