Illinois CPA Society Launches “Find a CPA” Directory

The Illinois CPA Society has made finding a trusted tax professional easy. Their new free and easy-to-use "Find a CPA" directory allows individuals, businesses and not-for-profit organizations to do a simple search through a database of member CPAs.

Taxes are complicated for many filers, and even filers generally simple income scenarios often run into challenges. Playing guessing games when filing taxes isn’t a good idea.

For these individuals and small businesses, the Illinois CPA Society has made finding a trusted tax professional easy. Their new free and easy-to-use “Find a CPA” directory allows individuals, businesses and not-for-profit organizations to do a simple search through a database of member CPAs. Your search can be narrowed down by location, the type of services needed, industries served and language preference.

The system also has a “Quick Search” to find a CPA who prepares individual income tax returns or one who works with non-profit organizations. The “Find a CPA” Directory section also includes helpful information on how to choose and use a CPA.

As the end of the year grows closer, so does the uncertainty surrounding the “fiscal cliff” and tax planning for the future. A wide array of tax credits and cuts, which were mostly enacted during President Bush’s administration, are set expire December 31, 2012, unless Congress takes action soon.

Although not a done deal, the scheduled expiration of these credits and breaks could wreak havoc on your finances. Planning is imperative and working with a CPA can help you better understand your available options for preparation.
