Kasey Bayne, a respected management and communications professional in the online accounting space, has joined Kashoo as their new director of business development effective today.

The company develops online and mobile app accounting software and has a user base of more than 50,000 small businesses, startups, entrepreneurs, freelancers, bookkeepers and accountants, in more than 180 countries.

Previously the “Accounting Ambassador” at FreshBooks, Kasey will oversee Kashoo’s partnership development strategies and execution as well as identify and develop new channels that will put the Kashoo product in the hands of even more small business owners, accountants and bookkeepers that require real, small business accounting software via the web and the iPad.

“I’m excited,” said Bayne.“ Opportunities to join a growing startup at essentially the ground floor don’t come along too often. And I really feel that Kashoo’s belief in the iPad and the cloud as the next great frontier for real small business accounting is spot on. This whole idea of ‘anytime, anywhere connectivity’ is the future and we’re going to lead the way.”

Kasey will also play an active role in the Kashoo MVP Program, helping new accountant and bookkeeper members with onboarding, best practices, and insight on ways Kashoo can help them become an even more vital business asset to their clients.

“It pretty much goes without saying that we’re thrilled to be bringing Kasey aboard,” said Kashoo CEO Jim Secord. “Her energy, industry knowledge, passion for working with accountants and bookkeepers, her business development experience… all of it is incredible and fits right in with where we are taking Kashoo: the leader in real, cloud accounting.”

Kasey was honored as one of CPA Practice Advisor’s 40 Under 40 in 2011 and 2012 and has received other recognition during her career of working at FreshBooks and Javelin Technologies, an engineering software company that sold SolidWorks 3D CAD software.

Kashoo was recently named the 2012 Startup of the Year by the British Columbia Technology Industry Association and was nominated a 2012 Small Business Influencer by Small Business Technology.
