Bancorp South Announces New Executive Vice President
BancorpSouth, Inc., a financial holding company, recently announced the promotion of Carol Waddle, CPA to Executive Vice President. In her new role, Waddle will be responsible for internal audits, loan reviews, regulatory compliance and security fraud. Waddle has more than 28 years of public accounting and internal auditing experience and graduated from the University of Mississippi with her Bachelor of Accountancy degree. She has also received the following designations: Certified Bank Auditor by the Bank Administration Institute, Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager through the American Bankers Association and Certified Financial Services Auditor by the Institute of Internal Auditors. Waddle is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Daniel Caldwell Named New CEO of 1st Choice Credit Union
1st Choice Credit Union in Atlanta recently promoted Daniel Caldwell to President and CEO. Since joining 1st Choice, Caldwell has held the positions of staff accountant, accounting supervisor, chief financial officer and interim president and CEO.

Mohler, Nixon & Williams Announces New Partners
Mohler, Nixon & Williams, accounting and tax advisory firm, recently announced the promotion of senior managers Trevor Gillespie, CPA and Toby Johnston, CPA to audit partner and tax partner, respectively.

Gillespie has responsibility for financial statement audits, reviews of software and software-as-a-service startups, distributors and manufacturers, serving as the accounting and audit quality control partner. Gillespie received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Utah and belongs to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Johnston is a Certified Financial Planner, providing advice to clients on real estate ownership, stock option planning and investment partnerships. He earned his bachelor and master’s degrees in accounting from Brigham Young University. Johnston is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, Santa Clara County Estate Planning Council and Silicon Valley Planned Giving Council.

Thomas M. Pierno Named Chief Financial Officer of Rosetta Stone Inc.
Rosetta Stone Inc., provider of technology-based language-learning solutions, recently named Thomas M. Pierno, CPA as its Chief Financial Officer. In this new position, Pierno will have responsibility for all financial functions including accounting, finance, tax, investor relations, and treasury. He will also manage Rosetta Stone’s global distribution and fulfillment functions. Pierno’s experience includes senior leadership roles at Vertis Communications, Comverse Technology, AOL and World Color Press. He graduated from Pace University with his bachelor and master degrees in accounting.
