Kevin Hedden and John Toscano Elected Partners at J.H. Cohn LLP
Accounting and consulting firm J.H. Cohn LLP recently named Kevin Hedden, CPA and John Toscano, CPA as its newest partners.

Hedden is a member of the firm’s Manufacturing and Distribution Industry, Technology and Life Sciences Industry and Capital Markets and SEC practices. He recently joined the Quality Control Department at J.H. Cohn. Hedden, who is a member of AICPA and the New Jersey Society of CPAs, graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Montclair State University.

Toscano is in charge of J.H. Cohn’s Educational Institution Industry Practice and is a member of the Not-for-Profit Industry Practice. His expertise includes accounting, auditing and consulting in the not-for-profit, manufacturing and construction industries. Toscano is a member of AICPA and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

RSM Bird Cameron Appoints Five New Partners and a New Principal
Australian accounting firm RSM Bird Cameron recently announced the elections of its newest partners and director, following the acquisition of Guild Accounting, formerly Saccasan Bailey. Bruce Bailey, Peter Saccasan, Pat Flanagan, Anthony Smith and Ian Douglas were all selected as partners at the firm and Jim Adamson, CPA was appointed principal of business solutions in Narrogin.

Bailey will be responsible for working with clients to maximize cash flow, develop financial strategies and manage tax outcomes. A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Bailey received his Master’s of Taxation Law degree from Sydney University and Bachelor of Financial Administration degree from the University of New England.

Saccasan leads RSM’s national pharmacy team and has a Master’s of Economics from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Financial Administration from the University of New England. Previously, Saccasan was executive director of Pharmacy Services at Guild Accountants. He is also a fellow of the Australian College of Pharmacy, the Institute of Chartered accountants Australia and the Taxation Institute of Australia.

Flanagan’s expertise includes acquiring, structuring and divesting businesses, raising capital, improving financial performance and implementing succession plans. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne.

As partner, Smith will advise clients on business objectives. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and received his Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Douglas leads the corporate finance division in Sydney, specializing in valuation for tax purposes, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, employee share schemes and litigation support. He founded the Australian office of American Appraisal, a global independent valuation house, and is a member of the Business Valuation Special Interest Group of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a senior associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australia. Douglas received his Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Finance) degree from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Adamson has extensive knowledge and experience working with farming and rural businesses. He also received his Bachelor of Business degree from Edith Cowan University and his Associate Diploma of Agriculture from Curtin University.

Buffamante Whipple Buttafaro, P.C. Names Lee F. Giardini Director
Lee F. Giardini, CPA was recently promoted to director in the Olean office of CPA firm, Buffamante Whipple Buttafaro, P.C.

Giardini, a graduate of the SUNY Fredonia, specializes in the preparation of corporate, partnership, individual, limited liability company and fiduciary tax returns. As director, he will be responsible for assisting businesses with tax planning and projections. Giardini is a member of AICPA and the New York State Society of CPAs.
