CCH Small Firm Services Enhances Electronic Filing Center Reporting System

Kennesaw, GA., May 2011 –CCH Small Firm Services (SFS) has successfully transferred its Electronic Filing Center (EFC) reporting system from an Oracle database to Microsoft Stack. This enhancement allows SFS to process tens of thousands of messages per minute and produce reports for its customers in near real-time.

Publisher of ATX and TaxWise tax compliance and accounting software, SFS processes approximately 1 in every 5 professionally prepared, electronically filed tax returns and 2 out of 3 returns filed using the IRS’s new Modernized e-File format. With such a large volume of incoming data, the SFS product development group worked with Mircosoft and Wintellect to enhance their EFC reporting system to match the pace of submitted returns.

Over the course of a single quarter, SFS put the new reporting system in place, just in time for the 2011 tax season. As a result, message processing was 300% faster than last tax season and on-demand reports for SFS customers reflected near real-time data. With the new reporting system, SFS is ready to meet the ever-increasing demands of electronic filing as well as provide its customers with accurate and timely data.
