Best Software Acquires Federal Liaison Services, Inc.

IRVINE
(Calif.) — Best Software has acquired
Dallas-based Federal Liaison Services,
Inc. (FLS), a single source provider
of employer payroll and tax filing solutions.

FLS provides software and technol-ogy
solutions for the compliance, reporting
and payment functions not addressed
by most payroll and HR solutions or
services. These products can be provided
as a stand-alone software sale or as
an outsourced, hosted solution. Prior
to the acquisition, Best Software was
a reseller of FLS products.

As part of the acquisition, Blake Eaton,
formerly of FLS, will join the Best
Software team as General Manager of
the business unit. Mr. Eaton will continue
to manage the Dallas-based FLS team,
reporting to Rick Valentine, Vice President
and General Manager, Best Software Payroll
Services.

The company says the combined solution
will enable Best Software to compete
strongly with offerings from ADP, Ceridian
and other tax and payroll outsource
providers by offering full-level tax
services in an outsourced environment.
